Younger Generations are Desperate to Travel

Younger generations are going to play a big role in the restart of tourism, and a recent study found that they are desperate to be traveling again.

Read H2R CEO Jerry Henry’s thoughts on why he’s optimistic about these travelers for 2021:

“Thank goodness for adventurous young people. The travel industry desperately needs travelers who are ready, willing and able to venture out as soon as possible, and this study certainly confirms that young people have the most optimistic attitudes toward traveling again in 2021. This is encouraging news because it has often been older adults who have fueled much of the travel industry.

However, before we begin counting our Bitcoin, it should be pointed out that young people often also tend to have the largest amount of unfulfilled intent. That is not necessarily uncommon among consumers in general. Typically the ratio of those who say they intend to visit, say an attraction, will greatly exceed the ratio of people who actually visit. Younger generations tend to convert at an even lower ratio ranging from 43% to 49%; whereas, Gen X, Baby Boomers, and Matures tend to be a bit more likely to follow through on their intentions (57%-74%).

Frankly, the travel industry wants and needs these young people back on the road and in the air enjoying leisure travel. We should all be pulling for them to achieve their hopes and dreams for 2021!”
