Voice of the Visitor Data: Safety in Travel

In PGAV’s latest installment of Voice of the Visitor 2021, we get into safety measures travelers are looking for when visiting an attraction.

The full article can be found here, but highlights regarding safety include:

·         Safety is the number one driver when choosing to visit attractions for every traveler segment, and it is likely that safety will continue to affect the attraction industry for years to come.

·         Having highly visible precautionary measures and procedures in place lets visitors know the level of safety that you require. Some of the most popular measures that visitors note include mask requirements, deep cleaning and providing hand sanitizer.

·         Communicating and enforcing safety rules is not new to the attraction industry, but pandemic safety adds another layer to that experience.

o   Attractions need to find creative, out-of-the-box ways to remind guests to stay safe while enjoying themselves.

o   Clear messaging is a must, regardless of your visitor demographic. Make sure guests know exactly what you are doing to keep them safe and what is expected of them during their visit.
