COVID-19 Will Shape These Attraction Trends in 2021

While the COVID-19 pandemic will undoubtedly continue to have an impact on attractions this year, many entered into 2021 with a positive attitude. Here are some attraction trends that industry experts believe the pandemic will help shape this year.

·         Clear communication. COVID-19 policies change from state to state and park to park, so guests need to know exactly what to expect before visiting an attraction.

·         Delayed projects. A lot of attractions will wait to resume delayed projects until they think the market is ready. There’s no reason to take on the risk of staff costs before they know that they can cover them.

·         Digital content. Attractions will need to look at streaming services and other forms of online entertainment as competition, as well as an opportunity. While there is pent-up demand to get out, these forms of entertainment offer a safe and entertaining experience catered to each individual.

·         Themed accommodations. Attraction hotels need to offer more than just close proximity, they need to be an experience that can stand alone.

·         Next-generation water parks. Guests want a storyline that is actively integrated throughout the entire water park, giving them more of an immersive experience.
